Despite the recent announcement that the Sebastopol Community Center will no longer host the annual Celtic Music Festival, the town this weekend hosts a new tradition in the African-International Music Festival. Benefiting more than 10 local nonprofit organizations, the event sees a wealth of music representing Africa and beyond within the wood-paneled walls of the center. With headliners the “Masters of World Music” living up to their title—Stephen Kent, Gurdeep Singh, Sukhawat Ali Khan and Mamadou Sidibe are truly masters—the afternoon and evening are rounded out by Midnight Sun, Dgiin, Onye Onyemaechi, Daouda, Andy Graham, Cuycuy, Carnaval Spirit, the Sweet Penny royals, the Linda Ferro Band, Mr. Music, Sena, the Wildcard Bellydancers and the Sonoma County Pomo Indian Dancers. Food, beer and a raffle complete the fundraiser on Sunday, Dec. 5, at the Sebastopol Veterans Memorial Hall. 282 High St., Sebastopol. 4–9:30pm. $15. 707.565.2041.
