Hikers rejoice—the addition of new open space and trails for 2013 isn’t over yet. The Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District
announced today the addition of 1.3 miles of trail to the Sonoma Mountain Ridge Trail, making it accessible from Jack London State Park. The trail will likely be open by late spring or early summer, 2014, says Sheri Emerson of the Open Space District.
The new trail will be about seven miles northwest of Sonoma and features beautiful views of the valley. It will likely be maintained by the nonprofit Valley of the Moon Natural History Association, which also operates Jack London State Park.
