May 12: Photographer Baron Wolman

May 6, 2008 – 3:23 pm by admin

wolman.gifBaron Wolman was cool before cool was cool. His photos graced the first issues of Rolling Stone magazine, and he photographed the royalty of the ‘60s music generation: Zappa, Hendrix, Baez, Joplin, Iggy Pop, Dylan, Morrison . . . You name an artist, and he’s got an amazing image. His secret is a winning combo of intimate access to the artists and a generous dollop of talent. The first day of his exhibit “Images of Music: Early Photos from ‘Rolling Stone’ 1967–’77” begins on May 12 at Palette Art Cafe. Ends June 9. 235 Healdsburg Ave., Ste. 105, Healdsburg. 707.433.2788.
