I wonder why a large amount of these tech giants sent their children to non-tech schools?

Anthroposophy School refuses outright to prepare children for life in a tech-driven world. Instead, they leave children without tools, or understanding, that computers, mobile phones, ipads, etc are just inanimate devices. The kids can come away believing the evil/Ahrimanic/demonic demonic devices control their own behavior and even brain function, because unlike their peers they haven't been taught something as basic as how to manage technology.

People pay good money for Anthroposophy School, which is certainly their prerogative. But prospective Waldorf parents, don't be surprised when you find yourself shelling out tutoring money on top of tuition because your children have been deliberately denied STEM education. At the same time, the children (and parents) are told they are getting some kind of superior schooling.

Digital divides are one thing. But deliberate digital divides in the name of absurd, esoteric beliefs from World War 1 era Germany is about as counterintuitive as you can get, in 2014. I guess some people think that is a good thing.

A very balanced article. Kudos to the author, and to the schools that are enabling children to grow up in a healthy, balanced relationship to technology.

No mention of Anthroposophy in Waldorf schools? Why not? It is the force that drives the "anti-technology" aspect of Waldorf education. Why wasn't that researched for this article? If you don't discuss the influence Ahriman brings through technology, you haven't discussed Waldorf. Sure, we see lots of satisfied parents who are still at the school. Did we hear from parents who were disappointed and disgusted at what they found underneath the promises? Google The Waldorf Review for the reactions of parents who weren't caught up in the nonsense.

I bet if you ran all of John Grisham or Stephen King's books through the right computer, they stole it all from Bob Dylan.

Dylanologists, amateur and professional, might do well to check out a new line of song plagiarism from Dylan to Old Crow Medicine Show. They might first check out John Prine's "Muehlenberg County song,( "Daddy won't you take me... Mr. Peabody's coal train done hauled it away." Supposedly Dylan's manager gave it to Old Crow, who now have their second hit with a Dylan rewrite. The questions are: What did Dylan send them? What year did John Prine write his great song? Old Crow definitely have released a song with a different chorus but the write overs from Prine's to Dylan's lyrics are mighty thin. The protagonist in Sweet Amarillo comes down from the "Mesabi Iron ore range" in place of "... by the Green River where Paradise lay"where John Prine's singer wishes to return, world's largest coal shovel or not!
Give them both a listen and hear how the timing and placement of phrases and tune in each overlaps and dovetails between the two songs.
