Deeply affected.* Smh.
It sounds like Mr. Neillands hasn't evaluated the data and yet he's telling the public to doubt the results. Is he acting as a spokesperson for the Department, or offering his own opinion? The article doesn't say. I like seeing the Bohemian report on a scientific debate but not if it's just speculation by a scientist not involved in the research.
To respond to the above comment, the 650 number only includes workers directly employed by the casino, and only those casino worker's who are able to be in the union. This may not be 100% correct but I believe all management, admin positions, card dealers, security and others are excluded. A conservative estimate of this group is 350, it could be up to 600. There are also at least 200 if not 300 workers at the non-casino restaurants who are also not included. Conservatively that puts the total number of jobs at 1200. Additionally, there will be a hotel made in the future and those will be 200-300 jobs easily. So while 1500 jobs is perhaps a better estimate than 2000, it is NOT 650. You need to stop spreading biased information to promote your cause. Also you need to blame the evil company Stations because they laid off HUNDREDS of workers in December. Had they not done that, the 2000 figure may still be accurate. Please do some unbiased research, your activism (which I support) will be more powerful with accurate data.
ONLY 650 GRATON CASINO WORKERS (WAITERS, JANITORS, HOSPITALITY WORKERS AND COOKS) ELIGIBLE FOR UNION MEMBERSHIP? We thought they created "2,000" jobs. Waiters, janitors, hospitality workers and cooks (but the restaurants are all privately owned!) are the bulk of the available jobs there. So where's the other 1,350 jobs? Here's the truth: The 2,000 jobs figure would have only happened if the large hotel planned for the casino had opened. That was where the "2,000 jobs" figure came from, but the hotel was not built, and Graton casino never corrected the figure. Check the original stories and documents going back to 2003. You'll see we're right. Visit us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Stop-Graton…

Juror 1679, note after lunch to judge said something like, upon further reflection during lunch, would it be possible to resume deliberations, even though the verdict form(s?) has already been completed, (and signed?) We know which juror that was, one of the 10 women
Nicolas, this post appears to need a bit more proof reading, you must have been dazed by your experience in the courtroom today! I do thank you for your recap and timely tweets to keep us all up to date on the daily adventures of our virtuous and so very humble supervisor.
What a scumbag. He should be in jail for attempted rape. No justice

Furthermore, he admitted to "peeking" in an interview with a detective, and that he wasn't drunk, just buzzed and amazingly he didn't even know the woman's name.
I boated past there many time growing up. It's part of the fond memories I have of the area. People who didn't live on The River would always say how tragic it must have been to be flooded in. We River Rats knew it was just part of winter on The River. The bigger floods were always bad. That intersection, however, flooded at least once a year when I was a kid and there would always be a picture in the news with the caption saying something to the effect that flood victims were fleeing. A lot of the time, though, it was people like my family boating to the bridge so we could get groceries. Then we'd boat back and drive home.
Yes and sadly my father, Bob Lucas passed away in 1999 after a courageous fight with Leukemia but I remember many many days and nights either hanging out at "The Paper" and hanging out at Dominic's as kids :)
Jackie's correct, it was directly across the other side of drake road from pee wee golf all 3 were there during this time (J's, Pee Wee, Abby's). Abby's was home of a huge super slide and at one point had an arcade, that's all I remember :)
abby's playland was on one corner with pee wee golf on the other, and pee wee golf was up the road a short distance.
I suppose if ODB released a solo album it would have had a far less G rated title. Thanks for reading.
I'm confused -- what does this have to do with ODB? A guy who didn't put out a record by this name? OHHHHH - I get it! You know nothing of hip-hop culture, so you take a holier than thou approach and insult one of it's pioneers in order to get someone to click through to a really sad excuse of an "article." Got it.
Ouch! I'm sorry the tilt-a-whirl made you sick.
I finally got to go check this out yesterday. Its one of the coolest ruins I've explored yet. It's neat to see how the graffitis has changed since your 2008 photos, and a lot of the wine barrels are not intact anymore... :( maybe 4 left. I hope to visit again one day. Ive uploaded photos to my Instagram.
