There aren't enough positive adjectives to describe the job that Gabe did coordinating all the contest. It was great fun!
The 24-hour band contest was a risk, but it definitely paid off. It was amazing to see what the musicians pulled together on such short notice. Well done.
Is the Matt Cain.... perfect?
you have only a small point thier ,;SECURITY, can prevent that in an area during cook-offs team members only, that does not seem as wee a good enough excuse.we the fans of him, expect this and expect him to show he's hands on more often.no-one doubts he can do it .Its not that, we just expect. and DR. BBQ ROCKS ,LOVE WHAT THAT GUY DOES.
I know your questions are tongue-in-cheek, but, in reality, imagine trying to concentrate on cooking perfect BBQ when you have a thousand fans trying to get your autograph. Guy loves BBQ and I am sure he wishes that sometimes he were not so famous so that he could sit back with a cold one and just enjoy his friends and the good times. The price of fame
I used to sit on my porch in the morning and watch them lift off every year until they forced the closure of Windsorland Mobile Home Park...but that's another story for another day...
This is an amazing spectacle to see and I suggest that you get up before the sun does, drive to Windsor and watch...then eat breakfast at the Downtown Grill or get a cuppa at Cafe Noto...
Please take a look at my campaign, http.www.tiffanyreneeforcongress.com I have kept it positive and I've actually been working in my community for the people for over 20 years. I enough elected experience to get the job done without the political baggage and campaign favors required of politicians that raise hundreds of thousands of dollars. I refuse to spend 30-40 hours a week dialing for dollars. I want to work and fight for you! Please don't buy into the old system of campaigning. Do your homework. Vote for Tiffany Renée for our future!
No bomb in the Santa Rosa case!? I guess what Talbot and Helvarg saw wasn't a real bomb and Bari's admission that her husband was involved was a figment of their imagination. DAS&G needs to start making up better lies.
Bottom line, Lawson has not gone the route of digging into Soloman, Huffman or Adams' past to negative campaign on a spin of lies. I have heard nothing negative come out from her campaign about others and she had money to do it well if she wanted to go that route ... That's integrity. Huffman seems to have some too so far.
Integrity? You just decided to vote for Stacey Lawson? Sure.
My God. Is anyone paying attention to these horrible actions by Paul Andersen. Happy Susan Adams will not get elected if this is the kind of people she trusts and has on her staff. I can only imagine Norman Soloman is just as bad ... spending big bucks to slander another candidate.
What ever happened to integrity?
Stacey Lawson just got my vote. The only "real" candidate in the race who is focusing us, the people. Seriously a sign of strength to keep the focus on us and our needs.
Another good source of information on Stacey Lawson is at http://www.staceylawson.info
Mike is right, I knew Judi after the bombing, but got to know her quite well, she did not bomb herself, and Daryl didn't do it either. Bet the FBI would deny they have a file on me too, that would be a lie too. Hope this all gets figured out, glad the lawsuit against the FBI was won. Miss Judi a lot and I am looking forward to seeing the movie "Who Bombed Judi Bari."
I'm dubious about "dubious about Bari." There were two bombs in this case, not four, unless you count two of the several pipe bombs exploded in cars by FBI bomb school instructor Frank Doyle on Louisiana-Pacific property a few weeks before the Cloverdale and Oakland bombs. By the way, those bombings happened in 1990, not 1991.
There were no bombs involved in either the Santa Rosa Airport fire or the Isla Vista Bank of America fire, and there's no rational case for trying to link them to the Bari case.
Sign me "Dubious about Sutley and Gehrman"
Hopefully the Bohemian will do a series of articles on the yet unresolved bombing in Oakland in 1991. There are four bombs (at least) in this story. The Isla Vista Bank of America in the early 70's, the 1980 Santa Rosa airport conflagration, the 1991 Cloverdale lumber compay, and a few weeks later the Oakland car bomb.
Looks so pretty with the blossoms floating atop. Thanks for sharing this recipe. I don't think I've ever bought German ice wine yet. This will be something new for sure.
Armand, this has nothing to do with the IRS. It is not a federal tax issue. It is purely a state tax issue, i.e. Franchise Tax Board and a voter registration issue. And the problem is that you cannot have two domiciles, one for state taxes, another for voter registration. QED.
Hi again Peter,
So I've thought about this one a lot, and I do admire your work, but I'll have to say that I respectfully disagree with you. "Principal residence" is an IRS definition, period. As you mentioned, I suspect Albertson declares the Santa Barbara home that way to benefit from the tax exemption and his mortgage interest tax deduction; he obviously doesn't have a 720 mile commute. So long as he's not collecting undeclared rental income on the property and he doesn't designate another home that way on his tax returns (plus the fact that his wife actually lives there), the Santa Barbara home pretty much meets the textbook definition of a "principal residence." (Though I suspect by our online discussion that we may have "nominated" the Albertsons for an audit next year, my apologies to the misses.)
Now, if he was registered to vote in Santa Barbara County as well then I suppose Atkinson would be a little concerned.
I'm not defending Albertson as a council member, but if he rents a home in Petaluma (as I rented half a bedroom in Santa Barbara for two years while in school) that makes him eligible to vote on Sonoma County issues. The IRS gives you one principle residence, and if you sleep there and telecommute or live 360 miles away and leave it to your wife, I doubt if they really care. And until they do, maybe we should let Mr. Albertson enjoy a "fuzzy" tax code like the rest of us and nail him instead on his voting record.
Of course he does not have to buy a house in Petaluma. But he does have to decide whether or not under state law his principal place of residence is Petaluma or Santa Barbara. You cannot have two "domiciles."
Re: “Tex Wasabi Finishes 7th”
I enjoyed reading your blog post. It has been a few weeks now since I visited a Bohemian, a local one.
