I’m not a medical professional but must comment on this opinion piece. His line of reasoning appears to be “Phytocannabinoids stimulate the vagus nerve causing compulsive consumption of confection”. At best, this is an oversimplification of a compulsive eating disorder; at worst, it is absolutely misleading. This much is correct: the vagus nerves are stimulated by a neuropeptide (ghrelin) produced in the GI tract when the stomach is empty. Specifically, this neuropeptide stimulates vagus nerve receptors, signaling the lateral hypothalamus, initiating appetite and increasing gastric acid secretions. Obviously, the individual’s response to this stimulative process varies and there are people less affected than others. Some people develop an over-sensitive response and have difficulty controlling their food consumption, whether they use cannabis or not. Medical “pot” is clearly not integral to the story and appears to be a red herring.
Times sure have changed. The thing that bothers me most about the internet is that not many people are real. Angles, Photoshop, and editing can completely alter someone's looks.
Looks like the food and wine lineup will be as amazing as the musical lineup <3
Been meaning to go there! I live Indian food.
Friends and admirers of Scalia think you are a "maggot tool" and that you should eat some "mo' goat log". And by goat log, I mean goat shit.
Coming up with the most insulting anagram of a dead person's name sounds like a "moot goal, g."
Thank you for last week's article on the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria. The ongoing struggles and successes of the indigneous peoples of America are important and I'm hoping you'll consider making this type of coverage a monthly feature. A lot of Americans seem very concerned about the suffering of oppressed peoples on continents halfway across the globe... and yet these same passionate folks seem quite ignorant of the genocide and oppression that continue right here, today. Articles like the one you cared enough to publish can shine a beam of light on an area of American culture that cruelly stays hidden, far too often. My hope is that with more frequent coverage, we all can bring our awareness and compassion to those right here at home who have suffered for too long and help empower them to thrive again.
"PAN wants the DPR...to create an easily accessible Internet database on the use of particular pesticides on particular pieces of land, so you'd know exactly what is being applied in your neighborhood."
Has this happened? If so, how can one access it?
Greetings....I understand that the Bohemian likes to put forward the art, poetry and writing of local North Bay folks. I would like to submit my recent book of poetry for your consideration: SNAPSHOTS: Mono no Aware here: http://www.amazon.com/Snapshots-Mono-Aware-Michael-Browne/dp/1517224853/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1455231292&sr=8-1&keywords=Snapshots+%3A+Mono+no+Aware

Older, Classic Mercedes Roadster. Good power under the hood. Engine runs smooth with occaisonal backfires. Paint older, chipped in a few areas, interior faded a bit, white walls, service history included, well maintained for an older 1951 model. Enjoys short fast drives having just returned from a long tour. Looking for a warm cozy garage to park in overnight, maybe longer.
Loans won't help those that are already having trouble paying their bills it will only add more debt to the list. A disaster declaration is the only thing that would help at this point.
Taylor diffenderfer is absolutely stunning, been a fan of hers for awhile. Everyone's good, great play
Oh..I wistfully hope that after losing my mate to cancer almost 5 years ago and being suddenly ready to move forward, that I should someday find someone like the happy couple, who found each other, in the beginning of this lovely article. xoxo
Hey Ernest!!! You are awesome. What a nice surprise to see this article here today about Y.O.U.
Classic is classic for a reason, but it sometimes bores me. Check out this version for a huge hit of flavor, with all the classic ingredients: http://goo.gl/PvpG2z
Wow, thanks so much. What a surprise! I walked out of the tasting room to the stack of North Bay Bohemian to see a story on wine blending. I was so surprised to see it was about Ravenswood, I can't thank you enough!
There are a number of State Parks locally (Sugarloaf Ridge, Armstrong Redwoods) which sit mostly empty most weekdays, but do fill up somewhat on weekends. In any event, you can call Sugarloaf and ask about availability if you don't want to go through the Reserve America, admittedly clunky, and State Parks usually have a set number of first come, first served spots. They are both spectacular natural areas and, while maybe not hip like a winery, truly provide a close-up look at nature, for real. I know, because I was the campground host last summer at Sugarloaf! Awesome job.
President Obama is as much white as he is black. He handles the issues in his own ways based on advisors and staff inputs. He will go into history as a great President. Not perfect but truly a President looking out for his people both black and white.
