Hillary is certainly the equal of many men that have been president---such a Tricky Dick Nixon. Hillary's lack of fitness for the presidency comes of the fact that she is not the equal of any of the good women who would have well served in the highest office in the land or any other position of trust and responsibility to other members of a community that woman have long served in a capacity far better than have far too long been reserved for occupancy by a male. And let us be fair minded in recognizing that Hillary is as equally unfit as men all too often have been in any position.
The budding politician and gun-owner Keith Rhinehart wants to work within the NRA: "Most NRA members, like myself, are pretty sane, normal people who don't believe you should be able to go to a gun show, buy a gun and walk out."
I'm sure many would like to know what efforts he's making within the NRA to put sane leadership in charge there. Otherwise, his money is just going to keeping in place the current extremists there now.
If Sanders says he's voting for Clinton I would think that it would be an acceptable, and his recommended, path for his followers.
Mr Natural, my step-father is 90 years old, healthy, and drug-free, and eats meat every day of his life, for lunch and supper. I eat meat at least five days a week. I am 55 years old, an ultramarathoner who runs every single day of the year, without ever incurring injury, and I never get sick. I have a friend who is Sikh, from India, who is vegetarian and is alway suffering from some sort of nutritional deficiency, suffers from migraines, and allergies. What is your point? A person's health is not really as related to diet as much as Americans have been misled to believe. Many other variables factor into a person's health.
What the Congressman is a complete joke. Gun Control costs people lives, it does not save them. Look at all the mass shootings, they took place in gun free zones. Additionally, he speaks highly of California and it's ability to pass Gun Control laws that Governor Brown will sign. He simply neglected to mention that most of all the laws passed in California violate our Civil Rights by violating the Constitution's 2nd Amendment.
These laws will do little but make criminals bolder knowing the average citizen will not be able to defend themselves. They also forgot some minor details about California, we are in DEBT to almost the tune of $2,000,000,000,000.00. The Democrat Oligarchy that runs the state is kicking that figure down the road for now.....
If "a vote, any vote" was so important, then why did EVERY Democrat vote against the 2 bills Republicans offered in the US Senate??? Come up with a clever line to explain their craven hypocrisy - we'll wait

Angwin. Howell Mountain, Napa County, under massive logging\deforestation proposals. Conversion to Vineyard is the #1 threat to environment. Ground water depletion, climate change, habit loss, wildlife migration corridors blocked, streams destroyed. Why interview a dweeb like Smith? He is a mad man.......
Great article. Thank you Stett, for writing it and for publishing it in the Bohemian. I live on a hillside in the Napa Valley about a mile from the proposed Calistoga Hills Resort. A neighbor of mine cleared many acres of beautiful hillside forest and planted vineyard in its place. The chainsaws, tractors, and excavators were operating at all hours and days of the week on and off over several years time. The county and the state have no issue with a clear-cut like this, and I don't think he is done yet as there are still some trees left on his property. I wonder how many more "conversions" will be taking place on the hills of this county, since there is no agency that restrains greedy owners from cutting all the trees on a property.
This is exactly why big wine money wants to elect Hopkins; to continue their push onto our remaining hillsides and coastal hillsides. Come on Sonoma county, get out from behind your I-phones and help elect Noreen Evans. It's not "Imagine if she wins" we need you in the streets talking to your neighbors and fighting for what's at stake here.

Though there are problems in Napa, they seem far ahead of Sonoma County in reigning in the over-growth of the wine industry, and thus preserving food farming and rural diversity. That's why Napa vintners such as Paul Hobbs and Joe Wagner are moving some of their operations out of Napa and into Sonoma County and beyond. For more information, go to www.winewaterwatch.org
With a weak coastal commission and a big business dominated Sonoma County Board of Supervisors, Noreen Evans will help effectively push back Big Oil and Big Wine and Big real estate. Take back our coast and save our environment.
This article reveals yet another reason for electing environmentalist Noreen Evans as the 5th District Supervisor. She would be more able to stand up to Big Oil and its damage to the environment, including the climate, as well as to Big Wine. It is our habitat that provides jobs, not the corporations that rape nature.
Do you trust the Sonoma County tourism industry?....Do you remember last years outbreak and those that entered during the R.R. Blues and Jazz festival?...And the concurent "Valley Fire."....Too many were not informed of the Russian River as non-potable and prior canine deadly.
Hey ! I was enlightened by the details - Does someone know where my business would be able to grab a template DA 4856 document to type on ?

Aren't these the same people who will protest EVERY low income housing development proposed? Without an income/means test, how do we know stabilizing the rent benefits only poor people? I personally have welcomed all new housing projects in San Rafael, being a lone voice in the NIMBY wilderness. I agree with paying a living wage as partially addressing the issue, encouraging builders to included below market rent units for those families below the HUD median also helps. But taking the ability to generate market revenue away from the housing providers will not encourage more apartments or condos or single family homes from being made available, it never has.
Perhaps I overlooked the first reference to the "Levitt" whose response to a studied concern by Ms. Pandapas (and many others) was: " . . . . That idea is floated by the flat-earth society."
This must be GGNRA spokesman "Howard Levitt " whose name-calling of opponents exemplifies his disdain for the public and for meaningful discourse. This contempt continues with his penchant for assigning himself the title of "Director of Communications and Partnerships" for the "Golden Gate National Parks."
This title is for an entity that does not even exist: The "Golden Gate National Parks" is NOT a Congressionally designated unit within the National Park Service. Instead, it seems that Mr. Levitt has assumed a mantle from the mash-up of two bodies that are morphing into one: The Golden Gate National Recreation Area (an NPS unit, supported by taxpayers, with a legislatively protected public access policy since 1972) and the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy (a private organization whose staff and operations are supported by donations; private, corporate and federal grants; and nonprofit status). Perhaps Mr. Levitt reports both to Christine Lehnertz, Superintendent of the GGNRA, and Greg Moore, President and CEO of the Conservancy?
In any case: The rule of law and Public voices in defense of Public Lands continue to be dismissed.
Where has Hopkins officially endorsed a ban on GMOs since becoming a candidate?
This is what a March 16, 2016 Press Democrat article said- "Lynda Hopkins, an organic farmer, on Wednesday expressed opposition to GMO crops and support for labeling of products that contain the altered organisms. She said she also signed the petition seeking to put the proposed county ban before voters.
But she stopped short of endorsing a ban, saying she wanted to read through “every single line” of the proposed ordinance before stating her position on it. Supporting the ban would likely put Hopkins at odds with many of her own supporters, including influential and deep-pocketed farming interests. Hopkins did not express concerns about that potential conflict, saying county politics are not “black and white.”
