Re: “Family Ties

As a viewer and participant in North Bay Theater for the past 15 years, I highly recommend this production. Do not miss its limited (2 weekend) run. http://www.ci.rohnert-park.ca.us/index.asp…

Re: “The Eyes Have It

I doubt I'm the first, nor the last, to point out Von Busack's boo-boo in identifying Danny Huston's character in "Big Eyes." Huston played San Francisco Examiner columnist Dick Nolan. Von Busack mistakenly cited James Bacon, longtime columnist for the Los Angeles Herald-Examiner. Not mentioning any names, but some movie reviewers ought to watch the credits before writing about the characters. Just sayin'....

Re: “Body Conscious

Body Deja Vu is so much fun! I love the music, the choreography isn't so complicated that it takes forever to learn the steps, but it's more creative than most exercise dance classes. You will sweat and have fun! The atmosphere is friendly and accepting of all, no need to worry about being a beginner, or carrying some extra pounds. I've been coming to Body Deja Vu since it opened and I feel great! And I'm getting better and better!

Re: “Nineteenth Century Onstage

Jolly Juliana at 6th Street Playhouse dates and location are incorrect. Correct dates are Nov 21 - Dec 21, 2014 at G.K. Hardt Theatre.

Re: “Old Meets New

Great fact checking - thanks

But… have you been to Mac's? It really does not cut the mustard

Re: “Old Meets New

ERROR #1: no way does Marin County have the "largest Jewish population in California." According to the same source the author is citing, the North American Jewish Data Bank, Marin has 26,100 Jews, compared to half a million in LA County, 65,800 in SF, 32,000 in Contra Costa.

ERROR #2: "This might be the one and only Jewish-style deli from Eureka to San Francisco" How does the Bohemian ignore Mac's Jewish Style Deli on 4th Street in Santa Rosa?

Re: “Hey Whitey

This movie is NOT set at Whitman College (which is a real life top liberal arts college in the US) but at fictional "Winchester University". Please correct your story.

Re: “Fight of Our Lives

With 60+ BILLION food animals on the planet our best chance to mitigate climate change is to severely reduce consumption of animal foods. More than 1/3 of human induced warming is attributable to animal agriculture. Methane is 24 times more potent than CO2 but takes only 7 years to cycle out of the atmosphere. CO2 takes around 100 years to come out. Human pursuit of animal protein is the leading cause of methane release and a primary cause of CO2 concentrating in the atmosphere. Check the facts and act!

"As environmental science has advanced, it has become apparent that the human appetite for animal flesh is a driving force behind virtually every major category of environmental damage now threatening the human future: deforestation, erosion, fresh water scarcity, air and water pollution, climate change, biodiversity loss, social injustice, the destabilization of communities, and the spread of disease." Worldwatch Institute, "Is Meat Sustainable?"

“If every American skipped one meal of chicken per week and substituted vegetables and grains... the carbon dioxide savings would be the same as taking more than half a million cars off of U.S. roads.” Environmental Defense Fund

"A 1% reduction in world-wide meat intake has the same benefit as a three trillion-dollar investment in solar energy." ~ Chris Mentzel, CEO of Clean Energy

There is one single industry destroying the planet more than any other. But no one wants to talk about it... http://cowspiracy.com

Re: “Sonoma County Filmmakers

I am really trying hard to make shorts, but, it is hard in this town Santa Rosa. Once you get started people drop out or wan't more money to shoot, and edit. I have been trying to do it on my own, but I don't think it is festival worthy. I know there are film companies to join in S.F., but I need something more local, due to time limits. I'm going to try to make it to as much film festivals as I can this year. thank you, Real2Reel Productions

Re: “Metal Movies

You cannot pidgeon hole a musician to one style of music. The musician might prefer a particlular style, but can contribute to all styles. Jaco Pastorius could play anything. I really respected his work with Weather Report. Miss Him, we will.
