Re: “13 Year-Old Boy Fatally Shot by Sonoma County Sheriff's Deputies

It's still leagal in the US to carry a gun (for now), unless they had reason to believe he was causing trouble, they should of left him alone.

The next time a cop gets shot in the face for 'no reason' remember this and all the other incidents where these jerks abuse their authority.

It's not illegal to have a rifle. It IS illegal to murder someone. Execute these buttholes.

Re: “13 Year-Old Boy Fatally Shot by Sonoma County Sheriff's Deputies

The article doesn't make it entirely clear just WHERE the youngster was when ordered to drop the 'weapon'. Certainly kids play with toy guns, that's what they are made for. But where was this youngster at the time and what was he doing? People are, understandably, alarmed and frightened when they see anyone carrying something that looks even remotely like a weapon. In a world where middle school kids kill people that's not unreasonable. Perhaps, in today's world, letting kids HAVE such toys is no longer reasonable.

Re: “13 Year-Old Boy Fatally Shot by Sonoma County Sheriff's Deputies

I think that the officers/police need to adopt the policy from the military , Do not fire unless fired upon, this will designate who is an enemy 100%. I can tell from the picture that this a toy gun. If you ever held an AK47 you know this is a bulky heavy weapon and not easily carried. The officer missed diagnosed the situation because he was not trained properly.

I feel for the parents for their lose, I played with toy guns all the time never did I have an issue with cops or any law enforcement over it.

This officer now has to live with knowing he gunned downed a child because he couldn't tell a toy from the real thing.

Re: “Bigfoot Sighting in Santa Rosa

To be fair, this man does NOT seem like a hoaxer by any stretch. The video would have been extremely dangerous to hoax assuming he might have mis-stepped in the undergrowth and fallen when the tree fell next to him. It also easily could have killed his small dog. A little research of this video & the accompanying stills would lend great credence to the genuineness of this footage. Pre-cutting a tree that size is also very unlikely, as the possibility of injury or death is considerable on many counts. Much as I don't give a flying shite for Biscardi & his antics, dismissing this account with decent video evidence would be a mistake. There are creatures that are not human in this video and just before the tree falls, you can see 2 quick movement on either side of the trunk, when enlarged & blown up, do NOT appear to be a person in the act of a hoax.

Thanks for letting me share here!~

Re: “Appendix to “One Hate, One Fear": Homophobia in Reggae

I think Buju Banton is not the same person as Pato Banton. Can anyone clear this up for me? I saw Pato Banton on a website & he was speaking & singing about peace & love, not hating gays like Buju Banton. I find it outrageous that reggae containing hate speech was allowed in Fairfax, ca one of the more progressive towns in the SF Bay Area. If people had known who this ignorant person is & what he was singing about, there would have been a picket line with protestors in front of the 19 Broadway Nightclub. Most people in Fairfax do not condone this type of message in any type of music.

Re: “Watch the Board of Supervisors Condemn Efren Carrillo's Actions

There are two victims here, one is clearly the woman who was being frightened by a crazed man. The remaining four supervisors were wise not to excuse his behavior.

At the same time, it is important to realize that demented behavior is just that—demented. In other words, Efren Carrillo was not his usual-- his real-- self.

Unlike a broken leg, mental illness is a fairly invisible malady. But it is not intentional. Nor is it strictly in the mind, but has a physiological basis.

Prescription drugs for mental illness are based on that very physiology. Therefore, everyone can grasp the concept that re-balancing one’s biochemistry will result in improved health. No one is born with a need for Prozac, but everyone requires various nutrients that are scarce in our modern diet.

Efren can use will power, prescriptions, talk therapy, and group support, but those won’t compensate for the lack of omega-3s (DHA, EPA), vitamin D, magnesium, iodine, and so many more, in his diet.

Joan Matthews Larson holds a doctorate in nutrition and is the founder and executive director of the Health Recovery Center in Minneapolis, which has successfully treated several thousand people over the past 20 years. Her seventeen-year-old son’s suicide led to her search for more effective solutions to emotional healing. Her books 7 Weeks to Sobriety and 7 Weeks to Emotional Healing explain the complex biochemistry and the necessary tests, diet, and supplements that rebuild health. Three quarters of the people in her program are successful in achieving sobriety from drugs or alcohol.

We are all victims of the food processing industry that ‘buys low and sells high,’ putting cheap but addictive replacements for real food into pretty boxes and knowingly using the gateway drug of sugar to hook us on these non-foods. These food corporations are no better than drug lords.

A good place to start healing is NOT the “nutritional” standards set by the USDA, which have been shaped by immoral corporations, but with Primal nutrition websites, or nutrition that copies the foods which supported healthy populations for thousands of years, as explained at WestonAPrice.org. For ten years, Dr. Price, DDS, studied isolated groups that were still living and eating in traditional ways, and wrote the ground-breaking Nutrition and Physical Degeneration. Some call him the Darwin of Nutrition.

Efren will recover faster if he adds super nutrition to his treatment plan. In fact, anyone would regain their real selves faster with good nutrition. The computer axiom GIGO is also true for people: “Garbage In, Garbage Out.”

Re: “Watch the Board of Supervisors Condemn Efren Carrillo's Actions

Kudos to the four members of the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors (Rabbitt, Zane, Maguire and Gorin) who had the courage and the grit to speak out against Efren Carrillo's disgusting conduct which led to his second arrest in just 10 short months. Several people -- myself included -- had expected a full "circling of the wagons." Fortunately, that was not the case, and for once, I'm glad that I was mistaken.

Maybe it's a generational thing, or perhaps it's just regretting and pining for the good ol' days, but I expect my elected representatives to abide by a higher standard of conduct in an effort to set an example for all citizens in their district to emulate and follow.

Efren Carrillo has failed miserably in this respect not once, but twice, and those are the incidents that we know about. How many other embarrassing incidents has he been involved in that have been swept under the rug by his cadre of professional "handlers"?

Perhaps we'll never know the answer to that question. But I believe that the lengthy list of indisputable facts gives me more than enough reason to reach the conclusion that this is not someone that I want to represent me -- at any level of government.

Re: “KTVU Reports Asiana Pilots Named "Sum Ting Wong," "Ho Lee Fuk"

This incident shows just how stupid and ignorant the commentator was and is. This station should be taken off the air until its can find and employ reporters/commentators who can actually show they have the level of intelligence of my Yorkshire Terrier. Why no one even suspected that these were fake names is astounding. I mean, really, Sum Ting Wong? Wi Tu Lo? What is the IQ level of the reporter/commentator who read the report?

Our Yorkie is smart enough to distinguish between his leash and our Yorkie-Poo's leash. He won't let me take him out to walk unless he has his leash, and his harness. The leashes are identical, as are the harnesses, but he can tell the difference. Smart little dog. The human who read the "pilot's names" on the air had no clue and should have known. The station can hire my yorkie!

Re: “KTVU Reports Asiana Pilots Named "Sum Ting Wong," "Ho Lee Fuk"

Could everyone please Google - SENSE OF HUMOR. Try to find one because CLEARLY - nobody has one. The airline is suing the TV station because they said the report damaged their reputation, as though crashing a plane did absolutely nothing in that department.
