Don is absolutely correct about police officers routinely ignoring the illegal loud bikes. In fact, it's abusive behavior to ride loud and that fact alone should prompt the police to address this abuse.
Nothing in Sonoma County beats going to Stark's...sorry...
Thanks a lot, this really is a truly awsome article! I also can be helpful here :) I've found some decent tutorials on how to fill template form out online here http://pdf.ac/3i1wxe .
Well, we do a little better with the actual nomination in November. It's still by winning the most electorates of a state, but if the state gets the electoral vote. Like IL has I believe 20 members of the Electoral College, so if Hillary wins IL by just one vote she'll win all 20 electorates and once you've reached or surpassed 270, Hillary is then the next president. And that's the closest we get to our vote really counting. At the same time, it shows how important it is to vote in the primaries and the off year non presidential elections unless you don't give a damn who you congressman is, the one that controls the purse strings. Same for you Senator. It takes two houses to pass that bill.
And people who don't vote, and there are a lot, just need to shut-up if they have a complaint. A lot of people are elected by your direct vote.
My gripe is not with Courthouse Square, although I would not vote for it personally. My frustration is over the lack of due process in allowing this project to pass the correct milestones in relation to timing of community input for design review, as well as for community input over finance and funding mechanism for this project. The budget is for $10 million, which will likely cost much more than that, or about 20 million over 30 years due to the fact that counsel motioned for a funding mechanism called certificates of participation, which is a form of finance that will cost much more in interest payments, risk, and administrative costs. Whereas if counciil chose traditional funding or if they put the cost of the project to a vote for a bond, then the project costs would be much lower. As it is, the community advisory board officiated by counsel did not give the courthouse Square (finance review) the required four community meetings to review the funding mechanism. This is a violation of the city charter. Are you out raged yet? If this project is such a great idea then what is the fear Council has in putting it to a public vote? Answer; because they know it will not pass two thirds majority vote. This project has been opposed for more than three decades, which tells us that the public does not want it. Yet counsel insists on pushing it down the gullet of the taxpayer. Our group has worked tirelessly to attempt to get answers out of council members, city attorney, the city manager, the CFO; of whom obfuscate the details. It is like trying to nail Jell-O to a tree getting a clear answer out of them, akin to a shell game. One extreme measure to take would be to repeal the city charter so that Council will stop violating city charter governing laws put into place by the voters. We could replace it with state general law, which is much more restrictive of local government, but that has its drawbacks to. Frustratingly, it would be a pleasure to take the sandbox and toys away from counsel for a while and replace it with stringent general state law until they know how to play by the rules for the people by the people.

Shameful article. The man who ran that show stalked, harassed and threatened people.
Next time do your research.

An important political event is happening on May 1st that effects all of your readers, and which I think needs some promotion. The California Democratic Party is holding caucuses around the state to elect “District Level” delegates for each of the 2 presidential candidates. Each of the state’s 53 Congressional Districts is doing this at the same time. Calistoga is part of CD 5, which includes Napa County plus portions of Contra Costa, Lake, Solano, and Sonoma counties.
Any registered Democrat from CD 5 is allowed and encouraged to participate and vote for the delegate candidates. Depending on the outcome of the June primary within each district, a commensurate percentage of these preselected delegates will be sent to the Democratic National Convention held in late July in Philadelphia. There they will join with the delegates and party insiders from every state to choose the Democratic party nominee for the General election in November.
Each caucus candidate pledges to support one of the Presidential candidates. To vote for delegates who are in support of Bernie Sanders, the location is 720 Technology Way, Napa, CA 94558. To vote for delegates who are in support of Hillary Clinton, the location is Carpenters Local 751, 1706 Corby Avenue, Santa Rosa, CA 95407. Doors open at 2:00. You must at least be in line by 3:00 in order to vote. You can leave quickly after voting if desired.
I think it important that we citizens take part in our political process, and that our media keep us properly informed.

You guys are promoting an event that had so many controversial things about it. Looks like the Bohemian has lost its actual reporting skills. You should look into the things your writing about. Things like fake facebook accounts, stolen photos, copyright infringement. Let alone 18 out of the 21 guests cancelled.
Good points. It never hurts a business to go the extra mile with a customer. People talk about their experiences with businesses, and that's called "Word of Mouth".
Only last month, Chipoltle honored an expired 2 for 1 coupon, which was very appreciated.
As you must know, people can get away with criminal behavior for a long time before they're caught. This happens a lot in government, because many people don't realize it, don't believe it, and/or blindly trust.
We need whistle blowers, like Jennifer, to do the time consuming research, then risk telling the truth. Many times, they risk their own safety to protect others from being abused and controlled by those in power.
Doesn't the fact that $42 million went missing cause some suspicion that things might not be on the up and up with SR City Council?
The Courthouse Square reunification project has been discussed by City Council, and written about by the Press Democrat, for YEARS. Why is Jennifer Coleman only now becoming an "activist" about it?
Had the Waldo last weekend - so good! Only 10oz pours available though... at 11.5% that is probably best. Great piece...
Nicely written! Looking forward to reading this column weekly.
So far it seems clear that Lynda Hopkins' campaign has a lot of money to spend. When a candidate has a war chest so large that she can purchase expensive, multi-page newspaper inserts weeks before the campaign, I start to wonder who's paying for it.
She seems like a perfectly fine human being, and may have the best of intentions. However, Ms. Hopkins is relatively new to the area and is already funded by many of the same big businesses that funded Effren Carillo (most notably the Ratto Group). Accepting that funding without knowing that there will be an expectation of payback is either painfully naive or worse, highly calculating and corrupt. Either way, that should give us pause.
Jim Depreist was one of my favorite teachers at Long Beach City College in the early 70's. He always had an encouraging word and that amazing sense of humor. I've been in Napa for 36 year, I didn't know he was a county away. I did a google search and find he's gone. I haven't seen him in years but now feel a huge hole.
An amazing endeavor brought to completion with inspiration and hard work. I so very much enjoy the simple yet sophisticated ambiance. The art work is wonderful and the furnishings are by far the best selections I have ever seen in sonoma county.
Excellent article, thank you for your neat perspective on a place that is putting Fulton on the map through the work and amazing talent of local sonoma county artists.
Roughly one in four American households conduct financial transactions outside the mainstream banking system. Without a checking account or savings account, they lack access to traditional loans and credit cards, among other things. When these Americans need cash, their financial options are limited. To capitalize on holiday sales before their next paycheck or pay for emergency car repairs, many of these underbanked Americans turn to short-term, or payday loans provided by http://speedyloansearch.com/ .
