Thank you Jennifer, for your well researched and documented article on Santa Rosa City Council's failure to uphold the city charter guidelines for including resident input for spending their tax money for capitol improvements.
The charter's constitution is ineffective if it's rules aren't enforced. That would seem to make it easy for "special interests" to influence the City Council, and bypass citizen review of proposed expenditures.
I think this could be a big case for an attorney willing to step up to the plate, and "step" on some toes of the offending parties, who's actions would be considered criminal activity in a court of law.
You've done the preliminary detective work, so it should be easy enough for an attorney to take up this very important cause.
This is just another action, in addition to the missing "millions" that should have been spent on much needed housing.
Looks to me like Santa Rosa City Council is getting away with illegal activity bordering on embezzlement. I hope that your hours of dedicated research to represent Santa Rosa citizens is recognized, and honored with a lawsuit.
I love it! Excellent article. I had a good experience filling forms online and happy to share it with you. If you ever need to fill out a form, here is http://pdf.ac/6fhhG9 a really useful tool. Very easy to navigate and use.
Once I saw the name Tom Biscayne. Automatic red flag!
I would love to see The Strudel Guy there.

What's so ironic is how little these so-called environmentalists know about ecology and ecosystems, that is what's necessary for these ecosystems to function.. Look at Yellowstone for example where elk were having an adverse impact on vegetation and water ways. The elk overgrazed and polluted water ways. When an apex predator, wolves, were re-introduced, the wolves managed the elk by controlling their populations and forcing them to bunch up in herds. Without the pressure of apex predators, elk will have the same if not worse impact upon land than cattle. Why? Because elk are much much more difficult to manage. Due these environmentalist want to also reintroduce other apex predators like wolves to control the elk here?
Personally, I like the no res rule. It's your restaurant, run it as you will. I had the Tan Tan Ramen. One of the best plates I've ever had in Sonoma County. Ever. Wow. Very nicely done. Will definitely be back... will stand in line... happily.
We are enthusiastic local customers that have been in both twice before the reno, and twice since the re-opening.
We have yet to be able to access the Ramen side this year.(2 hour wait, then 90 minute wait for each time respectively), but the no-reservations rule is a mis-step.
We noted while the visit with the 2 hour wait was shown to have both a packed restaurant and bar sides (the first week of re-opening), one week later a 90 minute wait had a virtually empty bar side: 2 folks at the wet bar who eventually got their names called for the Ramen side, and a second couple who left with us after we enjoyed an hour long meal the sampling the awesome bar food menu, this leaving the bar side empty.
Point being, the entire bar, (wet bar, window seats, and the middle bar facing a freezer) was empty by 8:30pm.
Ramen Gaijin has 3 distinct areas of the restaurant: the wet bar (with Window seats), the Ramen side of the restaurant, and then a middle section that straddles both halves of the Restaurant. But the lack of the ability to also serve serve Ramen, at least in the middle 10-stool bar is a mis-step; We would gladly sit there to enjoy the Ramen menu, as I'm sure others would as well when confronted with a very long Ramen-side wait.
Yes, the food is an amazing experience. The drinks too are good, and we will be sure to try their original concoctions on future visits.
But it's the food....you will shake your head in dis-belief that this is available in Sebastopol. (But then again, it's Sebastopol, and we don't need to let the secret out on our jewels.)
We will always come back, the food on both sides is incredible; Sebastopol (no, the entire North Bay) is extremely lucky to have this place to go to. However we worry that the 'no reservations' rule will hurt it, and the limited Ramen seating is just unfortunate. This is apparently because they did not expand the ramen cooking area of the kitchen during the renovation. That's puzzling, as it's called 'Ramen Gaijin', not '1/3 Ramen', or 'Ramen if you're patient'.
Great Job West End,(Allen) See you in Railroad Square ♡
Free parking on Sunday! Come one, come all to Railroad Square!
Do parking meters operate on Sundays? Maybe not.
That's just great.... Now we will have to contend with parking meters.... I'll pass.
Also, it would have been nice to have RP city councils support, but I wonder why, if this parcel is on county land, they should be able to "veto"--anybody know?
THANK YOU MR WIIG FOR WRITING THIS! You put it way better than me. Here's what I wrote to the to city council.
"I am writing to you in support of the incubator farm. I am a small-scale organic farmer in the county (entering my 6th year). I benefited from an apprenticeship at an incubator farm (at Hidden Villa, in Los Altos) and came back to Sonoma County, where I grew up, to start my own farm (Let's Go Farm) and run the vegetable portion of Shone Farm. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to see this absolutely necessary institution be blocked by a few neighbors and people who don't realize that the money collected from an Ag preservation and open space district-our money-is supposed to go to Ag preservation as well. Please know that there are many of us in the farming community who want to see this incubator take root. It is essential if we want to support not just our rural citizens, but our urban citizens - after all - everybody eats!
Please take action to support the incubator farm at tonight's meeting.

Once again, the National Park Service is under fire in the Bay Area for issues of mismanagement. There's been a constant drone of criticism from Drake's Bay to West Marin cattle ranching practices to Tule Elk dying of thirst to massive traffic at Muir Woods damaging the environment to curtailing legitimate recreational uses at the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, including dog walking, bonfires and sporting events. Has anyone ever given thought that maybe, just maybe, the National Park Service does not have the expertise or leadership in place here? Maybe they are not the right agency, considering their experience and forte is managing remotes wilderness areas? Yes, these are hard, complex issues. Yes, there are competing interests. Of course, it's not easy. Yet this is not a good performance review by any stretch. Can anyone argue it's not time for a total shake-up and revamping of NPS leadership and operations in the Bay Area? Anyone?
Collapsing fisheries. Collapsing oceans. Collapsing forests. And yet still no one mentions geoengineering. Have we lost the ability to trust our own judgement and common sense? For the most part it appears that we have. Look up. The answer(s) are right above us.
I am Goshen Perry by name i want to say a big thanks to the St Anthonio Orphanage home for making my dreams come true. I and my wife have been married for long now, but we are unable to have a child because of some health issues. And we decided to adopt. We have been hearing that the process to adopt a child is a very difficult one so since then going through the process has really been our fear. but we got in contact with someone who adopted from St Anthonio Orphanage she told us that the process in St Anthonio is very easy. so i decided to contact St Anthonio Orphanage, and behold the process was so easy and in just one week i got the child and now i am a happy man because the child is finally with me. So please i want you all to help me say a big thanks to St Anthonio Orphanage for their good heart. In case you want to also adopt a child, and you don't want to go through any stress i recommend you to St Anthonio Orphanage Home. Their email is (email@example.com), and their phone number is +1 (508) 686-7018
There is no "white knight" that will save this nation that is run by The Crown and The Committee of 300 as they reach thier apex. Stop following this distraction as we are being poisoned, literaly and mentaly, from the psycopaths that run our world government. If you live in CA how about looking up from all of the bombardment of media... I mean really.... go outside and look up. In fact I dare you all to watch the cloud "lines" being sprayed accross our sky and just question it.
I am not a person who likes to post anything, but we must all know about this and talk about it; Geoengineeringwatch.org Act now, talk to eachother, before we have nothing left. Even if you are not religious (I am not saying to convert) just go to your local churches to connect with people, we need to unite the people who want to care about our future and our childrens future, for this planet and every thing living on it. Because once you know, you cannot ignore it, and if we do something now, we can save ourselves and eachother before it's too late.
Thank you for your continuing coverage of Sonoma's IHSS workers. For years now your articles have been thorough and accurate, making sense of a very complicated program.
