This band is so much fun! Can't wait to see them tomorrow night in Sebastopol!
This was a fun event! Lot's of space to mill around, visit with friends and make new ones. Great music! The paella was delicious and everyone was beautiful.
The feel good vibe went south by the start of Galactic which no doubt coincided with the point that many drinkers who don't know their limits decided they no longer had to play nice with others. A couple "spotholders" at the front of the stage proceeded to invite one friend after the next after the next, into already occupied space driving back and away all the rest. It was pretty obvious they planned it ahead of time. If someone already occupying the space they were overtaking were to complain they used various means of harassment: one became belligerent by threatening to spill cups of alcohol on another, another inciting violence by slamming her body into the complainer multiple times, another drunk threatened to punch a woman who complained. This mob was about 25 strong by the last few songs leaving many pretty disgusted ticketbuyers who had been displaced, stepped on etc. with no apologies. And of course the feel good vibe was gone.
My suggestion is if you're going to have a big drinking event with bussed in drinkers who because they don't have to drive believe they also don't have to be decent human beings, place spotters/bouncers in front of the stage and elsewhere to make it more difficult for the ignorant drunks to spoil the show for others.
Great Local band, they sound a bit like The Band, but better harmonies, with many alt country/folk covers and plenty of excellent original material. Guitar, bass and sometimes resonator guitar (slide), with great vocal harmonies. The venue is funky and a great, old-school, friendly place to hang out and they have great food, too. One of the friendliest, down-to-earth venues in Marin County, in my experience.
This event is rescheduled to Sunday Oct. 23

"I asked my almost three year old daughter to describe the music of Little Folkies, and she said, “It makes me feel happy.” The original songs weave an idyllic country landscape of rolling hills, enchanted animals and imaginary journeys. Their music captures the ineffable delight and wonder of childhood, but it’s not solely for children. It’s music for families – music to be loved, sang and remembered by all, for lifetimes. The classes bring the genuine sentiment of their music to life, with abundant singing-along, dancing, clapping and stomping. These happenings are as beloved by my child as they are by me. The spirit of their sound is best summed up by one of their lyrics,“ all join in and gather round while we make that joyful sound.”
This is going to be a great event!
Go see this band if you ever get a chance! They are incredible really pro sound, stellar vocals , tight rythm section, well polished original music , tasteful proficient guitar work, and killer drumming . I love this band found their site online TheBlackoutCowboys.com
Hearts and Bones is hard working rock and roll band who feature quality original music and a handful of the classics. The Forestville Club seems like it would be the perfect place to watch these guys work their magic.
Wonderful production. Just saw it in preview this weekend. Highest recommendation and worth the trip to Petaluma. I'd see it again, without question. Very unique and evocative. It stays with you long after the show ends.
About time Sauceboys got their due
This event is cancelled. Tri Tip Trio is playing 8:30pm to 8:30pm.
As Guerneville residents we try to support our community. We set up our packed in chairs and bought 2 chicken sandwiches for $28.00. Then spent $14.00 for a beer and a very tiny glass of wine served from a box. As a dj boomed his music from one side of tbe street the amps on the laser stage competed with music of their own. We waited for something spectacular or even just patriotic to happen. We reluctantly picked up our chairs and joined the multitudes of families fleeing what whas evolving into a block party rave. There was absolutely nothing "4th of July" about the whole thing. Very Disappointed.
Scott Peterson, Guernewood Park.
