Re: “Zach Braff Saves the Rio Theater in Monte Rio

I think it is wonderful that Zach contributed the final $500 that got the Rio to it's 60k goal but he did not save the theater. There were volunteers who put in countless hours, several people who pledged $5,000 and community first credit union who sponsored a movie day.

"A famous guy gave a decent sized pledge at the end" is not as dramatic a headline but closer to the truth. I hope he is excited about it and gets involved because that would be great but the community came together for this one and it is our wonderful community that saved the Rio.

Re: “Zach Braff Saves the Rio Theater in Monte Rio

This is so cool! Our little tiny Rio Theatre, which was ready to close its doors due to its inability to afford new digital technology, has been saved by its community and a final push to the end by actor Zach Braff! The theatre would not suit many city types, as it is in an old Quonsut Hut and doesn't have all the luxuries of mega complexes. Thanks goodness. It oozes charm and Americana. It sits on the Russian River in Monte Rio, and is the only theatre that I have ever been to that serves homemade foods, and rather than being bombarded by commercials before the main attraction, you get to see the owners vacation photos. Its cool that the community has come together to support this icon, and that Zach Braff came through to support a truly unique theatre experience. Cool. One more little piece of a unique America spared from extinction. Zach, you have a new fan!

Re: “Zach Braff Saves the Rio Theater in Monte Rio

Thank you Zach! Thank you Gabe Meline for posting the graph I created, and updated almost every day since the Rio Kickstarter campaign began! And thank you, KGO 7 News for your story that got the pledges to jump five times higher than the entire previous month!

Re: “Bird Call

The people who care need to coordinate with a bunch of friends with the right equipment and implements and cut the damn netting down yourselves. Do it at night if you have to. It should be obvious by now that these government idiots aren't going to do anything. Why are you surprised - it's what they do best.

You better get out there and help those birds or there will be thousands of dead ones in that netting. GET RID OF IT AND DO IT YOURSELf.

And if you are asked about it, respond like the governent agencies do: deny, deny deny.

Re: “Bird Call

“When the Swallows Come Back to Petaluma”
sung to the tune of “When the swallows Come Back to Capistrano”

When the swallows come back to Petaluma
That’s the time you need to to take down all those nets

When you look at the bridge in Petaluma
You will see poor little birds killed in the nets

All the people on the ground are calling all around
The cruelty it astounds even hearts made of lead.

When the swallows come back to Petaluma
That’s the time you need to to take down all those nets

If you care about birds in Petaluma
Please sign on, raise your voice, save the birds.

Re: “Bird Call

Meant the petition to remove the nets. It is located on the NSCC website (native songbird care & conservation).

Re: “Is Raley's Going the Way of Walmart?: Grocery Strike Goes Into Day Four

The Santa Rosa Raley's employees are awful! They deserve nothing! They are so mean they kicked out a pretti for a customer thought she moved wrong! All because we have WOMEN in the mime! I hate women! I'm not surprised at what they look like, and I don't care that they take it that they are a pretti.

Re: “Mortgage Modifiers under federal investigation

There is always something wrong when it comes to things like mortgages and paydayloans. Have you noticed that both of these aspects are under the constant investigation process?! So many fake companies are trying to rip people off...same time it is our fault as well, as we are not as accurate as we could have been! We have to start beng way more responisble about things like mortgages. As take a look, so many frauds have been discovered lately!

Re: “A Picture of Tragedy

What a shock to read about Mark's murder. He was a really fine person: intelligent, kind, thoughtful. My heart goes out to the family; they are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope the justice system will listen to their plea for compassion and mercy for the mentally ill son.

Re: “What Happened to the Covered Wagon at Montgomery Village?

I created an online petition about this. I realized a sit in protest could get out of hand and cause damage, something I would never want to happen. Here's the link to it: http://www.petitionbuzz.com/petitions/brin…

Re: “A Picture of Tragedy

My hopes and prayers surround this entire family and all who are seeking the truth and its relevance to Houston and his care beyond this sad moment. I, too, wake up everyday to a tragic nightmare that began over 7 years ago with psychosis and the killing of 2 of our 5 children by their medication induced psychotic father and my husband, David Crespi. I believe that we all need to seek the full truth and surround the details with diligent attention for understanding to facilitate meaningful action and healing beyond the horror. See CrespiFamilyHope for details and possible understanding. I completely support understanding and mercy for Houston.
