Lovely article, David! Just a note that our Go Fund Me link is misspelled and will not work. Anyone wishing to help should go to:
It is unfortunate that people see the Death Penalty as some type of justice or closure for the victims families. There are not enough words in any language that can begin to describe the pain of losing someone and the lingering pain itself becomes a fixture that can't be replaced. I know what those families feel as I have lost my brother. He and I were very close so it hit me the hardest, despite him being my mother's first born and the only son she bore. After my brother was brutally murdered, I wanted each and every person who took part in his death slowly tortured begging for death, but as the years passed the hurt still remained in the deepest innermost part of my heart, and yet my brother was still gone never to return. Giving these guys a death sentence won't ease my pain, or make me feel better and it definitely won't bring my brother back. A life for a Life isn't justice by any means, but life in prison without parole is a starting point. Prison isn't a luxury that some people make it out to be. The prisoners don't get three meals a day, they don't get to shower everyday and medical attention is a joke at best. They may have tvs, radios, etc. but what good are they, being locked up in an over crowded hot/cold (depending on the weather outside), disease/rat infested cage? For all those who oppose the death penalty reform, they should experience San Quentin's Death Row for an entire month as an inmate and see if justice would be better served by Death. Of course everyone has an opinion, but opinions tend to shift quickly when the Murderer is now part of their family and they don't want to see death imposed on them. Hypocrisy at best when the tables turn, but who am I to judge. #YesOn62 #TheJusticeThatWorksAct #NOon66 There's NO Justice in Murder no matter how you paint the picture.
In the last sentence, you mean: just until you need glasses. lol
I'd say he definitely sucks.

I really enjoyed this article. I am surprised that it 30s so long ago, Thank you for letting this article be reissued.
Long time fan of Rob's.
"I asked my almost three year old daughter to describe the music of Little Folkies, and she said, “It makes me feel happy.” The original songs weave an idyllic country landscape of rolling hills, enchanted animals and imaginary journeys. Their music captures the ineffable delight and wonder of childhood, but it’s not solely for children. It’s music for families – music to be loved, sang and remembered by all, for lifetimes. The classes bring the genuine sentiment of their music to life, with abundant singing-along, dancing, clapping and stomping. These happenings are as beloved by my child as they are by me. The spirit of their sound is best summed up by one of their lyrics,“ all join in and gather round while we make that joyful sound.”
This is going to be a great event!
Go see this band if you ever get a chance! They are incredible really pro sound, stellar vocals , tight rythm section, well polished original music , tasteful proficient guitar work, and killer drumming . I love this band found their site online TheBlackoutCowboys.com

I greatly appreciate your insightful piece about law enforcement's continuous efforts to withhold critically important video evidence from public scrutiny.
However, I would like to address an oft-repeated misunderstanding that seriously muddies the question. You write: "The ongoing debate over public access to police body- and dash-cam videos can be viewed through the lens that sees a national tug-of-war over whether black lives or blue lives MATTER MORE." [emphasis mine]
I don't qualify for membership in Black Lives Matter but I do belong to a number of allied groups and according to published BLM information that I have seen, that movement has never suggested "that your lives matter any less" but rather that "BLACK LIVES MATTER JUST AS MUCH." [emphasis mine]
Another slogan that has recently taken traction among some allies is, "How can All Lives Matter when Black and Brown lives don't?"
This essential point is frequently missed by those blinded by white privilege but it's easily understood when the will to do so is there.
Hearts and Bones is hard working rock and roll band who feature quality original music and a handful of the classics. The Forestville Club seems like it would be the perfect place to watch these guys work their magic.
They are treated better than seniors in nursing homes. Should swap facilities.
Greatest studio ever!
"...cooking Italian food and talking Rasta." Rasta pasta!
I live on the same property. It's a nice little community. Mooka, Nate and the bunch are great folks, and the somewhat rural ambience is sweet. I encourage those who seek recording, mastering, concert sound, etc. services to check out Prairie Sun, and those wanting to learn the craft ought to consider Prairie Sun's internship program.
Wonderful production. Just saw it in preview this weekend. Highest recommendation and worth the trip to Petaluma. I'd see it again, without question. Very unique and evocative. It stays with you long after the show ends.
Deforestation is the number 1 cause of the collapse of civilizations. Read Jared Diamond's Collapse to learn for yourself. Napa needs those forests and it's high time the county puts measures into place to protect and increase them.
I'll support Death Penalty Repeal, Prop 62. Scott Peterson has his own comfy cell with television and gets out often to play basketball. Life in the general population would be preferable.
