Re: “Water Wars

Anyone know what CalAm wanted the rates to be before they divested themselves of the system? I found the rates for San Lorenzo Valley. They a Pasted below. I don't know what the left side service charges mean:
The rates are as follows: Please use the link below for additional rate information Rates Effective June 1, 2011
Meter Size Basic Charge
5/8", 3/4", 1"F, 1K, 1.5"G, 2"H & Surplus Water $ 49.73
5/8"A, 3/4"A, 1", 1.5"F, 2"G, 2L $ 82.90
5/8"B, 1"A, 1.5" $ 166.92
5/8"C, 1"B, 1.5"A, 2" $ 265.68
2"A, 3" $ 498.62
1.5" S $ 531.36
1.5"C, 4" $ 829.76
Sewer $ 298.00
The above charges do not include any water usage
A unit of water is 100 cubic feet, which is 748 gallons. Prices per unit are as follows:
Units per unit Consumption Charge
0 - 10 $ 2.71
11 - 40 $ 3.54
41 - 100 $ 4.24
101 - 200 $ 4.59
201 plus $ 5.00

Service charges look low, but the commodity charges are pretty high.
