Thanks for this thoughtful and even-handed article. Healing the community will be a challenge, but it can be done. In West Marin, there is widespread and deep interest in conflict resolution.
I have a small quibble with your article: Many of those who support DBOC do NOT put sustainable ag above environmental protection. Indeed, DBOC's proponents include folks who in the past fervently supported EAC and other environmental organizations. Others, like myself, aren't into oysters or high-toned food preparation. If you talked with the hundreds of people who prefer that DBOC would continue, you would hear a variety of reasons. No need rehashing all that now. But I didn't want your readers to think that the fight is between pro-environmentalists on one side and foodies and right-wingers on the other. That characterization doesn't come close to defining the complex issues that have torn apart our community.
