Re: “Ch-Ch-Changes

Studio 'E' is a unique and wonderful venue to see singer-songwriter's up close in an intimate setting.

Laurie has booked some great acts there where I have many memories and have seen many fabulous performers. To think it will be unavailable for future events is really disheartening.

I wish Laurie luck but it is my hope (and many others I'm sure) that Jeff Martin who owns the space will continue to sponsor more shows in that venue.

So Jeff, let me be the first to lobby for continuing concerts at Studio 'E' as the most down home and people friendly venue in Sonoma County!

Re: “Feb. 22: Willie Brown at SRJC

Nice feature in the Press Democrat today about Willy.

Never doubt he continues to be a power broker and clothes rack.

> Out Of Power, But Still A Power Broker <

"Wilkes Bashford, of the renowned clothing store here that bears his name, places a John Lobb suede oxford, size 11, marked down to $1,650, on the table at Le Central.

"It's a gorgeous color," says Willie Brown".............

"the young boy who grew up in segregated Mineola, Texas, in the 1940s, his grandmother once a slave, his mother a domestic servant, who had to scrabble for everything he achieved.".......

........."How much of this can be traced to his childhood deprivation? "All of it, all of it, all of it," he says."

.........""Obviously it's not going to be a shoe that every man is going to buy and understand," a salesman tells him.
"OK. OK, I'll take them," Brown says."

I grew up poor and understand the dynamic.......
but at $1650.I would have asked for a friendly discount! ;- }
