Both solar and lunar eclipses have inspired awe and fear throughout human history. Today these events are celebrated, when the sun seems to disappear or the moon turns blood red. On August 21st, a total solar eclipse will make its way across the entire continental United States, an event that has not taken place in almost 100 years. Although Sonoma County is outside the path of totality, we will see up to 77% of the sun’s light blocked by the moon. Discover the beauty of eclipses and how to safely observe these amazing phenomena.
