Re: “'Once in a Generation'

I have endorsed Jay Foxworthy for sheriff. He has an impressive and diverse background that qualifies him.

Re: “Standing Up

I appreciate the Bohemian publishing my OpenMic on the march, as well as a link to Maria de los Angeles' article on the New York march. This talented, young, Mexican artist is a frequent visitor to Santa Rosa. A longer version of my article has been published at over a dozen national sites; it can be read at the following link, which includes photos:….

The "Resist, Refuse, Sue" article in this week's Boho is must-reading. Rep. Jared Huffman's closing comments are worth considering: "...there is reason to believe there will be the most credible case for impeachment you'll ever see."

Re: “The Redwood Empire Fights Back

I appreciate what our brave 5th District Supervisor said in this week's cover article on the Redwood Empire fighting back against Trump. The section "Fightin' Lynda Hopkins" describes her as having come "out swinging against Trump," whom she says has "essentially declared war on progressivism."

Hopkins advocates that we "not play nice," but that we should "move aggressively against the next president." She is especially "troubled by Trump's positions on immigration and climate change." Hopkins advocates that we "fight Trump-led deportation should it come to pass." Yes, our cities and county should declare themselves to be sanctuaries.

Will Parrish is scheduled to speak at the Sebastopol Grange, on Highway 12, on Jan. 22, Sun. in the evening. Julia Bystrova, a medic/healer, has also just returned from Standing Rock. She and others will be speaking at the Grange this coming Monday, Dec. 19, starting at 7:30 p.m.

Re: “Letters to the Editor: October 19, 2016

David Katz hits the nail on the head with respect to Erik K. It is sad that he brings so much money and misery into the local contest for the 5th District. His funding of the unsubstantiated allegations against Noreen Evans are a disgrace.

Re: “Last Stands

Please keep these excellent, detailed, well-researched cover articles on important issues by Will Parrish coming. Our local daily does so little of such serious, old-fashioned journalism

Re: “Enough Already

This rampant over-development by the wine industry impacts not only Sonoma County, but our neighbors in Napa, Mendocino, Lake, and more recently Solano Counties. I enjoy wine and there are certainly many good grape growers and wine makers in our region, to which the wine industry makes important contributions. However, given that wine is a boom-and-bust product, it has become a serious threat to our economy--too many eggs in the same basket. 96% of the veggies and fruit sold in Sonoma County are imported from outside, according to Go Local, which means that we are no longer a food ag county. In terms of food security, this is a dangerous imbalance that must be addressed.
