Take a virtual trip with us on the historic North Pacific Coast Railroad. As Sonoma and Marin’s only narrow gage steam-powered railway connected Sausalito to the Russian River between 1873 and 1930, passengers were treated to San Francisco Bay, Tomales Bay, creeks and estuaries as the traveled through the towns and villages of western Sonoma and Marin. Compare historic photos with recent pictures along the 84 mile route and listen to stories about the railroad’s history.
